Returns and refunds
Incorrect or damaged items
If you receive a damaged or incorrect item please contact us, and we will correct the situation. We will either replace the item or refund you for any item that you receive that does not match the description as advertised on the website. We will usually need you to return the item to us at no additional cost to yourself.
Please contact us at info@textbookthrift.com within 24 hours where the item is not what you ordered to qualify for the above.
Please ensure that all books are correct for your registered course as Textbook Thrift cannot be responsible for incorrectly purchased books. Prescribed book requirements are usually available on your school or university’s official website.
Note: We cannot take action for you after an item has begun to ship, so changes of heart or alterations to an address you have entered cannot be accommodated.
We strongly suggest that if you no longer require the purchased book, that you relist it for sale on the website. Should you insist on returning the purchased book, you must return the goods in the same condition as you received it. We will refund the purchase price of the goods (minus all the courier costs as per below) within 30 days of the date of cancellation.
Shipping costs of returns and exchanges
The courier costs range from R200-350 if you are in a regional area, which includes the initial delivery and collecting and returning the book to us. The courier costs range from R500-650 if you are situated in a remote area. Amounts are per single book. Once we have received the package, we will notify you that we have received the physical goods.
If you choose for us to exchange the textbook, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to arrange the necessary steps to replace the textbook. The courier fees above will be applicable.
We aim for complete customer satisfaction. We will honor returns and refunds, where appropriate, if we’re contacted within 30 days of the date the order was placed. If you are not satisfied with any of our goods, or have any questions, please email us on info@textbookthrift.com and have your order number ready. We will try our best to solve your problem.
